Last weekend, John and I traveled to Asheville, NC for a friend's wedding. We didn't have much time to sight-see, but we did spend a morning at the Asheville Arboretum.

We saw a cool bonsai tree exhibit. This one was a tamarack.

John in front of a white-pine bonsai.

Bent Creek flowed through the arboretum. It was surrounded on all sides by rhododendruns. Must be beautiful in the spring. Also, we were entertained by a pool of trout (rainbows?).

Hills of North Carolina.

More scenery. We found the south to be a very welcoming place. The weather was cold, however. When we got back to Minnesota, temps were warmer than in NC?!?

Beth found huge leaves from some crazy exotic tree species. This seemed the only logical thing to do with them.
