Probably not recommended by the AAP

to hold your child over the stove so he can stir the pot of soup...but this kid LOVES to cook - and we are hoping to encourage his interests so that some day, perhaps, we'll receive a return on our investment of kitchen utensils.

how about baking? he can help with less dangerous things like adding flour and sugar? :) i worry about kids around hot pots!!!
