Ice In!

Clark Lake has recently frozen over--it looks like a gigantic ice-skating rink right now.

I took a couple of pictures and made a video so you can hear the sounds that the ice makes (you'll probably have to turn your volume all the way up to hear it). It is incredible--lots of pinging and cracking. Sometimes Nora hears it in the middle of the night and starts woofing. I should have taken a video of her earlier when I took her down to the lake and she kept staring at the ice and cocking her head from side to side trying to figure out what was making all that noise.

Ah yes, the growling, pinging, creaking ice.

Who said winter was quiet?
