Quick trip to Duluth

Haven't been online much lately - first I came down with a killer cold, then Paul was very sick with high fevers and lethargy for almost a week (still don't know if it was bacterial or viral), then we spent as much time as possible with my sister and her family while they were visiting from Germany. Paul had great fun with all his cousins - we are sad that it will probably be another year before we see them again.

Anyway, we made a quick trip to Duluth today to enjoy a beautiful early fall day (high temps around 70!). Paul had a great time - we did all sorts of things a 19-month-old loves--we hit at least three playgrounds, visited one river and two beaches, and had lots of snacks (including ice cream) outside. Our one disappointment was that we were really hoping for Paul to see an ore boat come under the lift bridge - but we just missed one by about 10 minutes. Next time.

Had to stop to see the big "doh" when we were in Deerwood. A train also happened by while we were taking pictures - an exciting stop!

Throwing "gawks" at Brighton Beach

Got totally soaked in a pool - thought it was hilarious

Nothing better than being soaked in Lake Superior 50 degree water!

Paul and me - yes I'm really that huge already. And no, I'm not having twins. It's gonna be a long pregnancy.

A dad and his son relaxing on the beach

Paul loved, loved, loved playing in the sand on Park Point.

Best sand beach in Minnesota

Looking for the big boats

Wish we still lived here...maybe some day.

A perfect day!

Nice pics, I feel your pain re: Duluth.

This time of year seems to hurt the most-those cool mornings.

Wow.....you crammed many things into a one day excursion.

Glad that everyone had a good time. How many outfits and shoes did you bring for Paul?
