Happy Birthday, Paul!!!

Two years ago today, we were thrilled to meet our big little guy after a very long, difficult labor and delivery.  Today, he is a talking, running, singing, truck-, color-, and shape-identifying bundle of energy.  It is so much fun to start every morning with footsteps running into our bedroom and a little voice saying, "Hi Mama!  Hi Daddy!"  Now if we could just get him to run in closer to 7 a.m. rather than EVERY morning at 6, or if he would stop turning on the overhead lights when he comes in, that would be nice.  But I digress.

We celebrated Paul's birthday last Saturday with some neighbors and their kids.  A small celebration in case we had to call it off at the last minute.  Paul had a great time:

Today is his actual birthday, and he has had a bit of a rough time about it - he took a header into the wall this morning and bloodied up his chin.  And then we had a 2-for-1 doctor appt. (we both go to the same family practice doctor) so he had to get one shot (but the last one until he starts school...yay!) and a finger poke.  Not a fun way to spend a birthday.  I'll have to plan something fun for this afternoon when he wakes up from his nap.

Now the waiting game continues for Paul's little sibling to make her/his appearance.  C'mon baby!  PLEASE arrive before 2/16 when my doctor goes on vacation.
