John is trout fishing with his buddy Nate today (Nate, Alesa, and their one-year-old, Halene, are coming over for venison steaks later tonight after they return), so I took Nora out skiing at Boulder Lake. We saw several people on the trails, but Nora did fairly well listening and staying close, except when she found a deer carcass. Yuck. At least she is beginning to master the command, "Leave It!!!"

Boulder Lake looks like a beautiful trail. Nora sure stands out against the white background.
Love,

Did Nora get lucky and eat any of the carcas before you noticed?
Well, fortunately the carcass was old (perhaps an old wolf kill?), so mostly she just smelled the pile of hair. I'm sure if left to her own devices, it wouldn't have been long before she started gnawing on it, though.
