Brule River Camping

Over Labor Day Weekend, John and I camped at the Brule River and managed to fit in some paddling and fishing, between driving 3 hours to Buckskin Lake and back to do some sampling. We fished the lower river this time, mainly because when we arrived at the canoe rental place to arrange a shuttle, about 35 people were renting canoes and kayaks and planning to paddle the same route that we normally fish. It was interesting seeing the lower river, though a bit challenging to fish (tight corners, lots of overhanging alders). We did land one nice rainbow trout.

We saw a black dog that looked like Nora when we were on the playground yesterday . . . Johanna RAN after it as fast as her little legs would go, shouting "Dog! Dog!"

Guess she misses Nora too . . .
