Chicago

On my way back from Ottawa, I flew to Chicago and stopped there to meet up with John and his family to attend a wedding. John and I both arrived a day early, so on Friday, we took the "L" downtown and went to the Shed Aquarium (yes, we are indeed fish nerds).

Cool leg sculptures and downtown skyline

A ray in the Caribbean community tank

There was also a lizard exhibit and lizards are easier to photograph (don't move so fast)

Two pound rockbass (seriously!) swimming toward the camera

Purple-spotted gudgeon: John studied these in Australia while in college, but said that the fish he studied were only about half the size of this monster

I visited this aquarium nearly 15 years ago during a "business" trip to Chicago ("place of the wild onion" according to Indian language).

I enjoyed the aquarium immensely and would recommend it to everyone.
