Meeting up with old (& new) friends

After Grandad Owen's memorial service and luncheon on Monday, I spent the afternoon with Katrina, Gretchen, and Jorgen, before heading down to New Prague to meet up with Laura, an old and dear college friend. I also met her little boy, Alex, who was born late last January. He was due about the same time as our baby will be due, but has now grown into an active, smiley, 6-month-old.



I spent the night with Laura and then we met up with some other college friends Tuesday night for dinner (all moms of kids ranging from 6 months to 2 years). Obviously, there was lots of talk of their experiences as parents, and it made me both a little excited and nervous at what we are getting ourselves into.

But for now, that's a long way in the future...and since next week I am flying to Ottawa to present some of my PhD research, I should really be worrying about that instead. Back to work on my presentation!
